A. THE COLOUR OF FAECES
If it is light yellow and shaped like a banana, then this indicates the healthiest bowel condition. However, when the bowel health condition deteriorates and the unfriendly bacteria out-numbered the good ones, the pH of the large intestine will become alkaline, and thus the colour of the faeces will become dark brown.
B.
THE ODOUR OF FAECES
The odour of faeces will vary according to the bowel’s condition. For example, if the bowel flora is in healthy proportion, the faeces will not emit foul odour. However, when the unfriendly bacteria out-numbered the good ones, the undigested protein will putrefy and decompose, forming indoles, phenols, hydrogen sulfite, and amines. These are the culprits of foul odour and very toxic in nature.
